Historical Background:
The Scammell Pioneer SV/2S was a heavy-duty recovery truck used by the British Army from the 1930s through to the 1950s. Originally developed as an artillery tractor, the Pioneers excellent off-road capability made it ideal for vehicle recovery. The SV/2S variant was fitted with a large rotating crane capable of lifting damaged tanks and vehicles from difficult terrain. It served across every major theatre in WWII, including North Africa, Italy, and Northwest Europe. Its unique appearance and battlefield utility have made it a favourite among modellers and military vehicle enthusiasts alike.
