The only reason for the 4 star rating instead of 5 is that I haven’t yet built the kit. I find ITALERI 1/72 models easy to build and well detailed. They usually, as here, have plastic tracks rather than the “rubber band” type, which are a bit fiddly but far easier to paint, longer lasting and more convincing.
The instructions look as easy to follow as I would expect from others in the range. As I intend to build this as a “battery tank” half buried, this will give me some useful spare pieces. Some parts are optional e.g. armoured track guards/side skirts and additional turret armour.
As with other kits in their range, the instructions give a choice of different colour schemes (4 here) including desert and winter. The only decals shown in the guide are crosses for the additional spaced turret armour. If this armour is omitted, or if using some of the decals for other models, a massive choice of numbers can be created, though care and patience will be needed as the decals are individual ( 1 decal per digit). The decals also come in several styles and colours. Looking forward to building – I have also purchased a set of Zvezda “Volksturm” (home defence) to accompany the model.
