History: The North American B-25 Mitchell was a versatile medium bomber that saw extensive service in every theatre of WWII. The B-25D variant was particularly active in the Pacific, where its durability and firepower were tested in harsh conditions against entrenched Japanese positions. Aircraft such as “Tondelayo” gained fame for surviving heavy damage and returning safely, demonstrating the rugged reliability of the design. With its distinctive twin-engine layout and ability to deliver precision strikes on shipping, airfields, and ground targets, the B-25 became one of the most respected bombers of its era.
