History:

The Boeing B-29 Superfortress was one of the most advanced bombers of the Second World War, featuring pressurised crew compartments, remote-controlled defensive turrets, and long-range capabilities. Enola Gay, piloted by Colonel Paul Tibbets, dropped the first atomic bomb on Hiroshima on 6 August 1945, while Bockscar, commanded by Major Charles Sweeney, delivered the second bomb on Nagasaki three days later. These missions remain among the most consequential events in modern history, bringing about the end of the war in the Pacific and marking the beginning of the nuclear age.
