History:
The Boeing E/A-18G Growler is an electronic warfare variant of the F/A-18F Super Hornet, developed to replace the ageing EA-6B Prowler. Entering service in 2009, the Growler is equipped with sophisticated jamming systems, electronic countermeasures, and the ability to conduct suppression of enemy air defence missions. Operated by specialised squadrons such as VAQ-141 “Shadowhawks,” the E/A-18G has proven its effectiveness in both training and combat operations, serving as a vital component of US Navy carrier air wings and joint coalition missions.
