The Academy 1/35 German Elefant Sdkfz 184 kit replicates one of the most powerful German tank destroyers of World War II. Known for its heavy armour and formidable 88mm gun, the Elefant was deployed on the Eastern Front, where it gained a reputation for devastating long-range firepower.

History: The Elefant Sdkfz 184 originated from the Porsche Tiger project and was converted into a heavy tank destroyer after the chassis proved unsuitable as a main battle tank. With its thick frontal armour and 88mm Pak 43/2 gun, the Elefant was nearly invulnerable from the front. However, its lack of mobility and mechanical reliability limited its effectiveness. Despite these issues, it remained a formidable weapon during battles on the Eastern Front, especially at Kursk in 1943.
