History:
The McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II was one of the most successful and widely used fighter aircraft of the Cold War. The F-4F variant was built specifically for the West German Luftwaffe, optimised for air defence and later modernised to remain in service for decades. Serving from the 1970s until 2013 in Germany, the F-4F played a vital role in NATO defence, representing a key element of transatlantic cooperation during the Cold War and beyond.
