Academy Korean Army K808 White Tiger Armoured Vehicle Model Kit

The Academy K808 White Tiger (13569) is a newly tooled plastic model kit representing the Republic of Korea Army’s modern 8×8 amphibious wheeled armoured vehicle. Developed and manufactured by Hyundai Rotem, the K808 combines an eight-wheel configuration with high mobility and amphibious capability.

This Academy release includes steerable front wheels, alternative armament and an optional front wave breaker shield. Three marking options are provided alongside an Armed Forces Day Parade option, giving modellers several choices for the completed vehicle.

The K808 White Tiger

Officially nicknamed “White Tiger”, or Baekho, the K808 is a modern wheeled armoured vehicle developed for the Republic of Korea Army (ROKA).

Its 8×8 configuration and amphibious design distinguish it from conventional tracked armoured vehicles. The K808 represents a modern approach to military vehicle mobility, combining wheeled transport with the ability to operate in amphibious conditions.

For modellers interested in contemporary South Korean military equipment, the K808 offers a subject from the Republic of Korea Army’s modern armoured vehicle fleet.

New Tooling and Kit Components

Academy’s K808 features new tooling, with five sprues forming the main plastic components. The kit also includes eight tyres, polycaps, photo-etched parts and Aurora stickers.

The separate tyres correspond to the vehicle’s eight-wheel arrangement, while the photo-etched components provide additional parts for assembly.

Steerable front wheels allow the finished vehicle to be displayed with its front wheels positioned at an angle rather than straight ahead.

Alternative Armament and Wave Breaker

The kit provides a choice of two weapon configurations. Modellers can select either a .50 calibre machine gun or a 40mm grenade launcher for their K808.

An optional front wave breaker shield is also included. This component allows the vehicle to be assembled with or without the shield, providing another choice when deciding how to present the finished model.

Markings and Parade Option

Three marking options are supplied for the K808, together with an Armed Forces Day Parade option.

The parade option offers an alternative presentation of the Republic of Korea Army vehicle, while the three standard marking choices provide further possibilities for finishing the model.
