The Academy 1/35 Pz.KpfW IV Ausf. H (Mid) kit captures one of the most pivotal versions of Germany’s Panzer IV series. This mid-production variant retained the formidable 75mm KwK 40 L/48 gun and introduced key armour enhancements, including Schürzen side skirts for protection against anti-tank weapons. With carefully moulded details and historically accurate fittings, this kit offers an excellent representation of one of WWII’s most deployed tanks.

History:

The Panzer IV Ausf. H mid-production model appeared in 1943 as part of Germany’s efforts to reinforce its armoured divisions against advancing Allied and Soviet forces. Outfitted with reinforced armour and Schürzen side skirts, it could better resist anti-tank rifles and shaped-charge weapons. Powered by the reliable Maybach HL120 engine and armed with the long-barrelled 75mm KwK 40 gun, the Ausf. H was capable of taking on most Allied tanks of the period. Deployed on both the Eastern and Western Fronts, it became one of the most numerous and iconic variants of the Panzer IV family, playing a crucial role in German armoured operations through 1944.
