History:

The Spad XIII was introduced in 1917 as an improved version of the successful Spad VII, equipped with a more powerful Hispano-Suiza engine and heavier armament. Capable of speeds exceeding 130 mph, it was one of the fastest fighters of its era and quickly became a favourite among Allied pilots. The aircraft was flown by numerous aces, including French ace René Fonck and American ace Eddie Rickenbacker. With over 8,000 built, the Spad XIII became one of the most produced fighters of World War I, serving with France, the United States, Italy, and several other Allied nations. Its blend of speed, durability, and firepower ensured its legacy as a cornerstone of early air combat history.
