History:

The Sukhoi Su-27 Flanker B was developed in the 1970s as the Soviet Union’s answer to the American F-15 Eagle. Designed for long-range interception and air superiority, the Su-27 combined powerful twin engines with exceptional manoeuvrability and a formidable weapons loadout. Entering service in the 1980s, it quickly established itself as one of the most capable fourth-generation fighters of its era. With advanced radar systems, heavy armament including R-27 and R-73 missiles, and a range of over 3,000 km, the Su-27 became the backbone of the Soviet and later Russian Air Force. Its airframe also served as the basis for numerous derivatives, including the Su-30, Su-33, and Su-35, ensuring its legacy as a cornerstone of modern Russian military aviation.
