History
The RQ-7B Shadow is a tactical unmanned aerial vehicle developed by AAI Corporation and adopted by the U.S. Army and Marine Corps in the early 2000s. It has been extensively deployed in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other modern theatres of operation, providing reconnaissance, surveillance, target acquisition, and battle damage assessment. Launched by catapult and recovered via arresting gear, the Shadow can remain airborne for over six hours, transmitting real-time video to command units. Its reliability and versatility have made it a cornerstone of modern military operations, representing the growing importance of UAV technology on the battlefield.
