History: Commissioned in June 1944, the USS Missouri (BB-63) was the last battleship completed by the United States. It gained historical significance as the site of Japan’s surrender in World War II on 2 September 1945, officially ending the conflict. Serving in World War II, the Korean War, and later reactivated for service in the Gulf War, Missouri remains a symbol of American naval power. Today, she is preserved as a museum ship at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, commemorating her role in shaping naval history.
