Panel liners are used to highlight volumes and define the different fuselage plates, panels, and details on aeroplanes, tanks, trains, cars, ships, robots, and more. All models share the common feature of structures and details outlined by lines, either raised or recessed. To achieve greater realism and visual richness, these features must be emphasised after the model has been painted to add depth and volume to surface structures.
AK Interactive’s precision panel liners are enamel-based and specially formulated to flow smoothly by capillary action without spreading or staining large areas. The enamel composition is ideal for this type of work, as it eliminates the surface tension often associated with acrylic paints, allowing it to settle cleanly into fine lines and recessed detail.
Each liner includes a precision brush with fewer, longer fibres than a standard brush. This design holds more paint and allows for clean, controlled application in a single pass. The Dark Rust shade is especially effective for replicating deeper rust tones, aged steel, and heavily oxidised areas on military vehicles, machinery, and industrial builds. It brings rich weathering effects to any surface, adding visual depth and storytelling to your models.
