This impressive 1/16 scale M3/M3A1 Halftrack kit from Andy’s Hobby HQ delivers an exceptional level of detail and flexibility. Offering a 2-in-1 build choice, modellers can construct either the M3 or M3A1 variant of this iconic U.S. armoured personnel carrier, widely used throughout World War II and beyond.

The kit features a fully detailed engine compartment, intricate crew fighting compartment, and realistic weaponry including both .30 cal and .50 cal machine guns. A full driver figure is included to add life to your build, along with photo-etched components and clear parts for that extra layer of authenticity. The set is rounded out with ten decal options, allowing for a variety of historically accurate markings from different theatres of operation.

This large-scale halftrack makes a commanding display piece on its own or as part of a dynamic diorama. A standout choice for modellers seeking realism and size in one comprehensive package.

Note: This model kit requires assembly and painting. Glue, paints and tools are not included and must be purchased separately.

History:

The M3 and M3A1 Halftracks were staples of the U.S. military during the Second World War. Designed to carry troops while providing protection and mobility across varied terrain, the M3 featured an open top and armoured hull with capacity for up to 12 soldiers. The M3A1 introduced upgrades such as a ring mount for the .50 calibre machine gun and other field-improved features. Used extensively in North Africa, Europe, and the Pacific, these vehicles also saw post-war service with numerous allied nations. Their reliability, adaptability, and rugged design made them symbols of American mechanised infantry throughout the conflict.
