History:

The Kawasaki Zephyr series, launched in the late 1980s, was developed as a tribute to Kawasaki’s legendary Z1 and other classic motorcycles of the 1970s. The ZR400C Zephyr X, produced into the early 2000s, carried forward this retro-inspired design while offering modern reliability and performance. Powered by a 399cc inline-four engine, it provided smooth power delivery and accessible performance that fit Japan’s popular 400cc motorcycle class. The Zephyr X appealed to riders seeking the look and feel of a vintage machine with the benefits of contemporary engineering. Customisation was a big part of its culture, with enthusiasts often adding aftermarket parts to tailor the bike’s appearance and performance. Today, the Zephyr X is appreciated both as a nostalgic nod to Kawasaki’s heritage and as a stylish, reliable motorcycle in its own right. The 2003 model represents one of the last iterations of this respected line.
