History:

The Volkswagen Beetle, originally designed in the 1930s, became one of the most successful and recognisable cars in automotive history. By the 1970s, the 1303 (known as the Super Beetle in some markets) introduced updates such as a curved windscreen, improved suspension, and enhanced safety features while retaining the car’s classic character. The 1303S, powered by a 1.6-litre flat-four engine, offered stronger performance for its class. The cabriolet version, built by Karmann, provided drivers with the joy of open-air motoring while keeping the Beetle’s practicality and charm. In 1975, the Beetle Cabriolet was especially popular in export markets, symbolising affordable fun and timeless style. Today, the 1303S Cabriolet is cherished as a classic, representing both the enduring appeal of the Beetle and its evolution through decades of design refinement.
