Border Model Douglas SBD-3/4 Dauntless 1/35 Scale Model Kit
The Border Model Douglas SBD-3/4 Dauntless (BG-003) is a 1/35 scale pre-painted model kit featuring a full interior. Representing the American dive bomber used during the Second World War, this release combines one of the best-known US naval aircraft with a detailed interior and a pre-painted presentation.
The Douglas SBD Dauntless played an important role in American naval aviation during WWII, particularly in the Pacific theatre. Known for its dive-bombing role, the aircraft became closely associated with US Navy carrier operations and major engagements such as the Battle of Midway.
Border Model’s 1/35 scale release provides an opportunity to build this historic aircraft in a scale more commonly associated with military vehicles, while the pre-painted format offers a different approach to a conventional unpainted aircraft model.
Pre-Painted Model with Full Interior
Two features distinguish this Border Model Dauntless kit: its pre-painted presentation and full interior. Together, they make BG-003 an interesting choice for modellers who want to concentrate on assembling a detailed representation of the aircraft while working with pre-painted components.
The full interior is a particularly significant feature of this release, adding another aspect to the modelling experience beyond the aircraft’s external appearance. For anyone interested in the construction and internal arrangement of historic military aircraft, the inclusion of a full interior makes this Dauntless a worthwhile subject.
Douglas SBD-3/4 Dauntless in 1/35 Scale
The SBD-3 and SBD-4 were variants of the Douglas Dauntless dive bomber, an aircraft closely associated with American naval operations during the Second World War. Its distinctive low-wing design and recognisable proportions have made the Dauntless a familiar subject among military aircraft modellers.
This Border Model release represents the SBD-3/4 in 1/35 scale, offering an alternative to the smaller scales traditionally used for aircraft models. The scale also makes it relevant to modellers with an established interest in 1/35 military subjects.
As part of the Border Model range, BG-003 combines a historic American aircraft subject with the manufacturer’s pre-painted kit format.
