History:

The Douglas DB-7B, known to the Royal Air Force as the Boston III, was a significant part of Allied air operations during World War II. Originally built for export, the DB-7B was adapted for British requirements and entered RAF service as a light bomber. It offered excellent speed, manoeuvrability, and reliability, making it a favourite among crews. The Boston III played a key role in low-level bombing and night intruder missions over occupied Europe. RAF No. 88 Squadron operated the Boston III from airfields in Norfolk, while the USAAF also utilised the aircraft from British bases, such as RAF Molesworth. This kit represents both Allied nations’ use of the aircraft during the crucial summer of 1942, offering modellers a choice of historically rich schemes.
