Copper State Models Plastic Model Kit

British Armoured Tender RAF Middle East Service (1/35) CSM35020

The Copper State Models British Armoured Tender RAF Middle East Service (CSM35020) is a 1/35 scale plastic injection model kit replicating the vehicles used by RAF Armoured Car Companies in the Middle East during the 1920s. Deployed in Iraq and Kurdistan, these tenders undertook patrol, escort, and security missions in some of the harshest environments, helping to maintain British control in a period of unrest.

Based on thorough historical research, the kit includes precisely moulded plastic components, clear parts, and high-quality Cartograf decals with accurate RAF markings. A full-colour instruction manual is included, making the build process clear and enjoyable. This subject is ideal for modellers with an interest in interwar armoured vehicles and RAF ground operations.

  • Scale: 1/35
  • Material: Injection-moulded plastic
  • Contents: Detailed parts, clear components, Cartograf decals
  • Features: Historically accurate design and markings
  • Compatibility: Suitable for display or inclusion in Middle East dioramas

History:

In the years following the First World War, the Royal Air Force retained a significant presence in the Middle East through its Armoured Car Companies. The British Armoured Tender was one of their key assets, serving extensively in Iraq and Kurdistan during the 1920s. Built on modified commercial truck chassis and armoured locally, these vehicles provided convoy escort, patrol coverage, and protection for isolated outposts. Operating in extreme heat and unforgiving desert landscapes, they were prized for their durability and adaptability. Their deployment not only reinforced British influence in the region but also set a precedent for the design and use of armoured vehicles in colonial theatres.
