The Caudron G.II was a French-built reconnaissance and trainer biplane of World War I, derived from the earlier Type G and G.2 designs. Featuring a single-engine, twin-boom structure and distinctive sesquiplane wings, it was valued for its stability and reliability—ideal for reconnaissance and advanced pilot instruction. History: Developed from earlier Caudron designs, the G.II entered service from 1914 onward. It was used primarily by the Aéronautique Militaire for reconnaissance and pilot training early in the war. Its stable flight characteristics and robust structure made it a practical workhorse for both front-line and training units. Though fewer units were built compared to later aircraft, the G.II played a key role in establishing the effectiveness of bolstered French air operations in the early stages of WWI.
