History
The Gotha bombers of the Imperial German Air Service were among the most formidable strategic aircraft of World War I, used primarily in long-range bombing raids over Britain and France between 1917 and 1918. Crewed typically by a pilot, bomb aimer, and one or more gunners, these aircraft required close teamwork and skill to operate effectively on extended missions. Crews wore specialised flight gear to protect against the cold and high-altitude conditions, as well as equipment for communication and navigation.
