Das Werk Kubelwagen Typ 82 DAK Version – 1/16 Scale

The Das Werk Kubelwagen Typ 82 DAK Version is a 1/16 scale plastic model kit depicting the German military vehicle in its Deutsches Afrikakorps configuration. Featuring equipment associated with the North African campaign, this large-scale kit includes a detailed engine, interior, two figures and four historical paint and decal options.

The DAK-specific modifications include additional jerrycans fitted in mounting brackets, balloon tyres and a modified dashboard. These details distinguish this version from the standard Kubelwagen and provide a distinctive subject for a Second World War vehicle modelling project.

Detailed Vehicle Features

Das Werk has included a range of construction options and individual details across the vehicle. The engine compartment features a detailed reproduction of the engine, while the interior includes the modified dashboard associated with the DAK version.

  • 1/16 scale Kubelwagen Typ 82 DAK plastic model kit.
  • Additional jerrycans with mounting brackets.
  • Balloon tyres and modified dashboard.
  • Detailed reproduction of the engine and vehicle interior.
  • Engine hatch and doors can be assembled open or closed.
  • Front wheels can be assembled in a steerable configuration.
  • Finely detailed soft top with open or folded configuration.
  • Clear components and photo-etched detail parts.
  • One driver figure and one figure representing Rommel.
  • Four alternative paint and decal schemes.

The opening doors and engine hatch allow different display configurations, while the steerable front wheels offer further flexibility when positioning the finished vehicle. The included soft top provides another choice when assembling the model.

Four Historical Marking Options

The kit includes decals and painting options for four vehicles associated with German military units operating during 1942 and 1943:

  • Fsch.Jg.Brig. Ramcke – Mersa Matruh, North Africa, November 1942.
  • S.Pz.Abt. 501, Maintenance Unit – Djedeida, Tunisia, 1943.
  • Aufkl.Abt. 999, 999th Light Africa Division – Greece, 1943.
  • Pz.Art.Rgt. 90, 10th Panzer Division – Battle of Kasserine Pass, February 1943.

These four schemes offer a choice of unit markings and historical settings for the completed Kubelwagen. The two included figures also provide options for displaying the vehicle with its driver and Rommel.

Assembly and Finishing

This 1/16 scale plastic model kit is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Construction includes the vehicle body, detailed interior, engine, DAK equipment, and figures, with clear and photo-etched components for added detail.

Paint and glue are required for assembly and finishing and are not included. The four supplied marking options allow the finished Kubelwagen to represent one of the specified wartime vehicles.
