GreenStuffWorld Mini Tube Cutter

The GreenStuffWorld Mini Tube Cutter is a compact hand tool for scoring small-diameter plastic, brass, copper and aluminium tubing. Suitable for tubes measuring over 3mm and up to 22mm in diameter, it is useful for scratch-building, modelling, crafts and smaller DIY projects.

The sturdy aluminium-alloy body contains a rotating cutting wheel positioned between two guide rollers. These rollers stabilise the tube as the tool rotates, helping produce a precise, consistent groove around its surface.

Designed for controlled tube scoring

An adjustment knob gradually moves the blade against the tubing. By rotating the cutter and tightening the knob slightly after each complete turn, the cutting wheel progressively deepens the groove without applying excessive pressure at the beginning.

How to use the tube cutter

Check that the cutting wheel is sharp and free from debris, and make sure the rollers are clear. Place the cutter over the required section of tubing so it sits securely between the guide rollers, with the blade resting on the surface.

Slowly tighten the adjustment knob until the blade lightly touches the tube. Rotate the tool smoothly to score a continuous groove. After each complete rotation, tighten the knob slightly and repeat until the groove is deep enough to weaken the material.

Gently twist or bend the tube along the scored line to separate it. Softer materials such as plastic and aluminium should separate more easily. For copper or brass, make sure the groove is sufficiently deep before attempting to split the tube manually.

Finishing and important guidance

The newly separated edges may contain rough areas or burrs. A deburring tool or file can be used to smooth them before the parts are handled further or fitted into a project.

Warning: This tool is designed to score a groove around tubing before the material is split by hand. It is not a guillotine intended to cut completely through most tubes, and it is not sharpened for crosscut guillotine use.
