Water Soluble Patina Black Soot
The GreenStuffWorld Water Soluble Patina Black Soot is an acrylic weathering effect designed for creating realistic soot, smoke staining, grime, and aged surface finishes on miniatures, models, scenery, and dioramas. Its partially water-soluble formula allows hobbyists to manipulate and blend the effect for highly natural-looking weathering results.
Part of the patina paints range, this product is suitable for military vehicles, industrial scenery, science fiction projects, fantasy terrain, and railway modelling.

The formula is designed so pigments naturally settle into panel lines, recesses, and textured areas to create realistic dirt and soot accumulation. The finish can be adjusted using damp brushes, cotton swabs, or sponges to achieve anything from subtle weathering to heavy smoke and grime effects.
The product can be applied directly by brush or diluted slightly for airbrush use depending on the desired effect. Once finished, sealing with matte varnish is recommended to preserve the weathering and maintain the ultra-matte appearance.
