The Hasegawa EA-18G Growler VAQ-131 Lancers 2025 is a highly detailed 1/72 scale plastic model kit depicting the U.S. Navy’s premier airborne electronic attack aircraft in its latest VAQ-131 “Lancers” squadron markings. This Limited Edition release faithfully reproduces aircraft NL550 as operated by Electronic Attack Squadron 131 during 2025.

Based on Hasegawa’s acclaimed EA-18G Growler tooling, the kit features finely engraved panel lines, an accurately detailed tandem cockpit, realistic undercarriage and sharply moulded external surfaces. The distinctive electronic warfare antennas, wingtip pods and modern Growler configuration are all reproduced with excellent accuracy, while the comprehensive decal sheet allows the latest squadron markings to be completed straight from the box.

History

The Boeing EA-18G Growler is the U.S. Navy’s dedicated airborne electronic attack aircraft, developed from the F/A-18F Super Hornet. Entering service in 2009, it replaced the EA-6B Prowler and provides electronic warfare, radar jamming, communications disruption and suppression of enemy air defences. Electronic Attack Squadron 131, known as the “Lancers”, operates the Growler as part of Carrier Air Wings deployed aboard U.S. Navy aircraft carriers. The squadron regularly participates in combat operations, multinational exercises and forward deployments, ensuring U.S. and allied forces maintain dominance of the electromagnetic spectrum in modern warfare.
