Hasegawa F-22 Raptor 1/48 Model Kit

The Hasegawa F-22 Raptor is a detailed 1/48 aircraft model kit of the United States Air Force air-superiority fighter. Developed as the successor to the F-15C Eagle under the Advanced Tactical Fighter programme, the F-22 is a fifth-generation jet designed around stealth, supercruise capability and internally carried weapons.

Hasegawa has reproduced the aircraft’s distinctive surface treatment, including its radar-absorbent sheet detailing. The cockpit, air ducts, weapon bay and landing-gear bays are divided into precisely detailed components, giving modellers plenty to work with throughout assembly and finishing.

Selectable Model Features

The main-wing flaperons can be assembled in either the lowered or normal position. The thrust-vectoring nozzles are supplied as two alternative parts with different mounting angles, allowing the rear of the aircraft to be configured to suit the chosen presentation.

The internal weapon bay, one of the defining features of the F-22, can be built either open or closed. This gives the option of displaying the supplied internal armament or preserving the aircraft’s clean external profile.

Weapons, Pilot and Markings

The kit includes two AIM-9X missiles and six AIM-120C missiles. A seated pilot figure is also supplied, with a choice of two helmet types.

Three United States Air Force marking selections are provided. These cover aircraft associated with the 1st Fighter Wing and 94th Fighter Squadron “Hat in the Ring”, including the 1FW commander’s aircraft marked “FF 1FW” from 2009, together with options connected to the 192FW commander, 302FS squadron leader and 49FW commander.

This Hasegawa release combines finely represented surface features with detailed internal areas and several useful assembly choices.
