The Hasegawa F-15J Eagle is a highly detailed 1/72 scale plastic model kit of the Japan Air Self-Defence Force’s premier air superiority fighter. Based on the legendary McDonnell Douglas F-15C Eagle, the F-15J has protected Japanese airspace for decades and remains one of the most capable interceptor aircraft in service today.

History

The Mitsubishi F-15J Eagle is a licence-built version of the McDonnell Douglas F-15C, produced specifically for the Japan Air Self-Defence Force. Entering service in the early 1980s, it was designed to defend Japan’s airspace against potential threats across the Pacific region. Built by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries with advanced Japanese avionics integrated into the design, the F-15J has undergone continuous upgrades to radar, mission systems and weapons capability. It remains one of the world’s most capable air superiority fighters and continues to serve as the backbone of Japan’s air defence network alongside the newer F-35 Lightning II.
