The Hasegawa E-2C Hawkeye J.A.S.D.F. is a highly detailed 1/72 scale plastic model kit of the famous airborne early warning and control aircraft operated by the Japan Air Self-Defence Force. This completely new-tool kit accurately reproduces the early E-2C variant equipped with four-bladed propellers and includes a wealth of authentic operating features.

The model features a rotating radar dome mounted using internal poly caps, optional early or late-style lower fuselage antennas, positionable flaps that can be built raised or lowered, and self-deforming tyres for a more realistic appearance once completed. Hasegawa’s precision engineering delivers finely engraved panel lines, excellent cockpit and landing gear detail, together with the superb fit the manufacturer is renowned for.

The comprehensive decal sheet includes markings for aircraft 452 and 456 of the Air Self-Defence Force’s 601st Squadron based at Misawa Air Base, along with the distinctive 20th Anniversary Vigilance Air Corps commemorative aircraft 454 and 462 from 2003. History

The Northrop Grumman E-2C Hawkeye is one of the world’s most capable airborne early warning and command aircraft. Equipped with its distinctive rotating radar dome, the Hawkeye provides long-range surveillance, airspace management and battle coordination for both naval and land-based operations. The Japan Air Self-Defence Force introduced the E-2C during the 1980s to strengthen the country’s air defence network, with aircraft operated by the 601st Squadron from Misawa Air Base. Working alongside ground radar stations and interceptor aircraft, the Hawkeye continues to play a vital role in monitoring Japanese airspace and supporting regional security operations.
