This 1/72 scale plastic model kit from Hasegawa represents the SH-60J Seahawk, the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force variant of the widely used Seahawk naval helicopter. Designed primarily for anti-submarine warfare and maritime patrol duties, the SH-60J operates from destroyers and other naval vessels.
The kit captures the distinctive twin-engine helicopter configuration, including the high-mounted tail rotor and naval sensor equipment specific to the J variant. History
The SH-60J is a licence-built Japanese development of the Sikorsky Seahawk family, adapted to meet the specific operational requirements of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force. It entered service in the 1990s as a replacement for older shipborne helicopters.
Equipped with advanced sonar and surveillance systems, the SH-60J plays a key role in maritime security, anti-submarine operations, and fleet support missions in regional waters.
