Heller Plastic Model Kit

Lancia Delta S4 (1/43)

This 1/43 scale model kit represents the Lancia Delta S4, one of the most extreme and recognisable rally cars ever built. Developed for Group B competition, the Delta S4 combined advanced engineering with aggressive performance in a compact, purposeful package.

The kit captures the distinctive wide stance and functional bodywork of the original car, making it well suited to motorsport-focused displays or historic rally collections. In 1/43 scale, it works particularly well as part of a grouped lineup of classic rally machinery without overwhelming the scene.

  • Scale: 1/43
  • Plastic model kit
  • Legendary Group B rally car
  • Wide body and competition styling
  • Compact scale ideal for display collections
  • Suitable for historic motorsport themes

History

The Lancia Delta S4 was introduced in 1985 at the height of the Group B rally era, a period defined by rapid technological development and minimal regulation. Unlike many of its rivals, the S4 used both a turbocharger and a supercharger, delivering immediate throttle response alongside immense power.

This combination made the car brutally fast, capable of accelerating on loose surfaces with a ferocity rarely seen before or since. The Delta S4 achieved competitive success, but it also became closely associated with the dangers of Group B rallying.

Following a series of fatal accidents, the Group B category was cancelled at the end of the 1986 season. The Delta S4 remains a symbol of that era, representing both the peak of rally car engineering and the moment when the limits were finally judged too far.
