ICM Air Battle Over Khalkhin Gol is a 1/72 scale aircraft set featuring three fighters associated with the 1939 fighting over the Khalkhin Gol River. The set includes the Soviet I-16 Type 18 and I-153 Chaika alongside the Japanese Nakajima Ki-27a, giving modellers three contrasting aircraft from the same campaign in one package.

The air battles over Khalkhin Gol took place from May to September 1939 and involved hundreds of Soviet and Japanese aircraft. Soviet pilots faced the highly manoeuvrable Ki-27 while relying on aircraft including the faster I-16 and the agile I-153 Chaika. The campaign became an important period of tactical development for both air forces before the Second World War.

Three Fighters from Khalkhin Gol
