ICM Dangerous Beauties of the Korean War B-26 Invaders
ICM Dangerous Beauties of the Korean War is a detailed 1/48 scale model kit set featuring two Douglas B-26 Invader bombers from the Korean War period. The set represents late-production B-26 aircraft and includes the B-26C variant with its distinctive glass nose section.
The Douglas B-26 Invader, originally designated A-26 until 1948, entered U.S. service in 1944. During the Korean War it was used as a strike aircraft against enemy positions and lines of communication. Initially employed on daylight raids, the B-26 later became a major night-operating aircraft against convoys and trains.
Two Korean War B-26 Invaders
This ICM set provides two complete 1/48 scale B-26 Invader models, making it a substantial addition to a collection of 1/48 aircraft. Each model comprises 269 parts, giving a total of 538 parts across the complete set.
The models feature accurate geometry and proportions based on the original aircraft, together with detailed cockpit and fuselage equipment. Highly detailed sprues are produced from quality plastic, while detailed assembly instructions guide construction of both aircraft.
Monie and Neva Hoppen Markings
A distinctive feature of many Korean War B-26 Invaders was the nose art applied by their crews. This set includes decal markings for two well-known aircraft: “Monie” (44-34517) of the 37th Squadron, 17th Group, flown by Lieutenant R. C. Mikesh, and the B-26C “Neva Hoppen” (44-35767) of the 452nd Group.
The nose-art markings provide each aircraft with a distinctive identity and allow the finished models to represent two specific Invaders associated with Korean War operations.
