Italeri Plastic Model Kit
Italeri Jagdpanzer 38(t) Hetzer (1/35) 96531
The Italeri Jagdpanzer 38(t) Hetzer is a detailed 1/35 scale model kit of one of Germany’s most successful late-war tank destroyers. Built on the proven chassis of the Czech-designed Panzerkampfwagen 38(t), the Hetzer combined a compact silhouette, effective armour protection and a powerful 7.5cm anti-tank gun into a vehicle that proved highly effective on the battlefield during the final stages of WWII.
Designed to be economical and quick to manufacture, the Jagdpanzer 38(t) entered production during 1944 to meet Germany’s increasing demand for armoured fighting vehicles. Its sloped frontal armour provided excellent protection for its size, while its low profile made it difficult for enemy crews to detect, particularly when operating from concealed defensive positions.
This Italeri kit faithfully reproduces the distinctive appearance of the Hetzer with finely moulded exterior detail and an accurately shaped casemate. The completed model measures approximately 182mm in length and includes realistic link and length tracks for improved appearance and easier assembly compared with individual track links.
Ideal for both standalone displays and diorama projects, the Jagdpanzer 38(t) Hetzer remains one of the most recognisable German armoured vehicles of WWII. Its compact design and combat reputation make it a popular subject for military vehicle modellers.

History
The Jagdpanzer 38(t), commonly known as the Hetzer, entered service with the German Army during 1944. Developed using the reliable Panzer 38(t) chassis, it was designed as a lightweight, low-cost tank destroyer capable of engaging Allied armour with its powerful 7.5cm Pak 39 gun. Its heavily sloped frontal armour and exceptionally low profile made it difficult to spot and highly effective in ambush tactics. The Hetzer served extensively on both the Eastern and Western Fronts until the end of WWII and continued in post-war service with several countries, demonstrating the soundness of its design.
Glue and paints are sold separately.
