The Macchi MC 202 Folgore in 1/72 scale captures the elegance and combat capability of one of Italy’s most successful World War II fighters. Developed for the Regia Aeronautica, the Folgore was a significant leap forward in performance, thanks to the integration of the German Daimler-Benz DB 601 engine, manufactured under licence in Italy. This allowed for substantial improvements over earlier Italian fighters, offering a top speed of 600 km/h and greatly enhanced manoeuvrability.

Early production models were equipped with two nose-mounted 12.7mm Breda-SAFAT machine guns, while later variants featured additional wing-mounted weapons for improved firepower.
