Kitty Hawk Models Plastic Model Kit

RF-101 C G/H Voodoo (1/48) KH80116

This 1/48 scale RF-101 C G/H Voodoo from Kitty Hawk Models represents the reconnaissance variant of the famous McDonnell Voodoo. Designed for high-speed photo reconnaissance, the RF-101 played a vital role during the Cold War, flying demanding missions over hostile territory and providing critical intelligence.

The kit features finely engraved panel lines and a detailed cockpit, along with reconnaissance-specific nose configurations. Photo-etched parts are included to enhance finer details, while crisp clear parts allow accurate representation of the canopy and camera windows. A full colour paint and decal guide supports finishing, with multiple marking options included.

History

The RF-101 Voodoo was developed from the original fighter design to fulfil the need for a fast, high-altitude reconnaissance aircraft. Stripped of heavy armament and equipped with advanced camera systems in the nose, it became one of the primary tactical reconnaissance platforms of the United States Air Force.

RF-101 variants saw service in several theatres, including Southeast Asia, where their speed and altitude performance were essential for survival in contested airspace. The type later continued service with allied air forces, remaining an important intelligence-gathering asset well into the Cold War.
