This handy tool from LIANG is designed to help modellers replicate the classic Zimmerit anti-magnetic paste texture found on mid- to late-war German armoured vehicles. Compatible with 1/35, 1/48, and 1/72 scale kits, this basic version is perfect for achieving the distinctive ridged pattern used across panzer surfaces during World War II.
- Includes ridged roller and application handle
- Produces consistent Zimmerit textures
- Suited for 1/35, 1/48, and 1/72 scale kits
- Easy to use with modelling putty or filler
- Ideal for German WWII armour kits
Designed with precision, the roller ensures a uniform pattern to enhance historical accuracy. Simply roll across a thin application of putty or paste to emboss the texture. The basic kit is a must-have tool for any modeller wishing to add an extra layer of authenticity to their builds.
Note: This requires assembly.
History:
Zimmerit was a special paste applied to German tanks and other armoured vehicles during World War II to prevent magnetic anti-tank mines from sticking to their surfaces. Introduced in 1943, this paste had a distinct ridged or waffle-like texture and was applied in various patterns depending on the factory or field unit. While it added weight and complexity, it offered valuable protection in close-quarter combat scenarios. LIANG’s modelling tool pays homage to this historical detail by allowing scale modellers to replicate the authentic surface with ease and precision, adding realism to any mid- or late-war German build.
