Cutting and Assembly Tips

For clean results, cut each box from the sheet with a very sharp knife, preferably fitted with a new blade, and a steel ruler. Also remove the thick white or black lines between the upper and lower flaps to help achieve a cleaner finish during assembly.

After cutting around the complete outline of the box, make one cut to the left and another to the right of the thick line. Use the tip of the knife where the line remains attached and move it sideways to remove the section.

For easier folding and sharp bends, use a knife and steel ruler to move very gently over the bending lines. Apply only light pressure so the fold lines are scored rather than cut. After assembling and glueing a coloured box, you can lightly paint the exposed paper edges in an appropriate colour to reduce the appearance of the white paper and give the finished wine box a cleaner look.
