Matho Models Black Lowercase Letter Waterslide Decals

Matho Models 80012 provides an A6 sheet of small black lowercase waterslide letter decals in five different heights. The sheet includes 1mm, 1.5mm, 2mm, 2.5mm and 3mm letters, providing a useful selection of sizes for adding black lowercase lettering to scale modelling projects. Each height is identified on the sheet, making it easy to select the required size while working.

Suitable for all scales, the decals feature separated film, allowing individual letters to come away one by one without the need to cut precisely to their edges. Their ultra-thin construction helps them adapt well to different surfaces, while the semi-matte finish provides a controlled appearance. High-definition printing produces crisp results even across the smallest details, with accurate and colourfast black printing.

Five Black Lowercase Letter Heights

The A6 sheet contains black lowercase letters in 1mm, 1.5mm, 2mm, 2.5mm and 3mm heights. This selection provides flexibility when choosing lettering for an individual design, while the heights listed on the sheet make the different sizes straightforward to identify before application.

These Matho Models decals are covered by a semi-transparent protective sheet. Once this cover is removed, the decals have their crisp and bright appearance ready for application. The separated film then allows the required individual characters to be handled one by one.

Applying the Waterslide Letter Decals

Cut out the required decal with a sharp knife and place it in water for approximately 5 to 10 seconds to loosen it from the carrier paper. Gently slide the letter into position using tweezers. Decal softener, such as Micro Set and Sol, can be used for better adhesion, particularly when applying the decal to a non-flat surface.

Once positioned, use tissue paper and apply light pressure over the decal to remove excess water or decal softener and fix the letter in place. Varnish can then be airbrushed over the decal for protection. Semi-matte or matte varnish can be used to reduce glare if required, followed by the usual weathering process to blend the selected 1mm to 3mm black lowercase lettering into the finished design.
