Matho Models 8mm Black Uppercase Letter Decals

Matho Models 80024 provides an A6 sheet of black uppercase waterslide letter decals, with each letter measuring 8mm high. Suitable for all scales, the sheet provides individual black uppercase letters for adding lettering to scale modelling projects.

The decals feature separated film, allowing the individual letters to come away one by one without the need to cut precisely to their edges. Their ultra-thin construction helps them adapt well to different surfaces, while the semi-matte finish provides a controlled appearance. High-definition printing produces crisp results even across small details, with accurate and colourfast black printing.

Each letter on the sheet has a height of 8mm, providing a consistent size when combining individual characters into the required lettering. The uppercase format and black colour give the sheet a clearly defined appearance, while the separated film simplifies handling of each individual character.

These Matho Models letter decals are suitable for all scales. The A6 sheet combines the 8mm uppercase format with an ultra-thin decal construction designed to adapt well to the surface on which it is applied.

Applying the Waterslide Letter Decals

Cut out the required decal with a sharp knife and place it in water for approximately 5 to 10 seconds to loosen it from the carrier paper. Gently slide the letter into position using tweezers. Decal softener, such as Micro Set and Sol, can be used for better adhesion, particularly when applying the decal to non-flat surfaces.

Once positioned, use tissue paper and apply light pressure over the decal to remove excess water or decal softener and fix the letter in place. Varnish can then be airbrushed over the decal for protection. Semi-matte or matte varnish can be used to reduce glare if required. The usual weathering process can then be applied to blend the 8mm black uppercase lettering into the finished design.
