Matho Models Black Uppercase Type 2 Letter Decals

Matho Models 80035 provides an A6 sheet of black uppercase Type 2 waterslide letter decals in four different heights. Suitable for all scales, the sheet includes 1.5mm, 2mm, 2.5mm and 3mm letters, giving you a useful choice of sizes for scale modelling projects.

The letter height is identified on the sheet, making it straightforward to select the required size. Each letter uses separated film, allowing individual decals to come away one by one without the need to cut precisely to the edges. The decals are ultra-thin to adapt well to different surfaces and have a semi-matte finish.

Four Uppercase Letter Heights

The sheet contains small black uppercase Type 2 letters in four heights: 1.5mm, 2mm, 2.5mm and 3mm. This range of sizes allows the appropriate letter height to be selected according to the requirements of the individual project. High-definition printing provides crisp results even on the smallest details, while the black colour is accurate and colourfast.

As the decals are suitable for all scales, this Matho Models sheet is not restricted to a particular modelling scale. The combination of four clearly identified letter heights provides flexibility when selecting uppercase lettering for a design.

Applying the Waterslide Letter Decals

Cut out the required decal with a sharp knife and place it in water for approximately 5 to 10 seconds to loosen it from the carrier paper. Gently slide the letter into position using tweezers. Decal softener, such as Micro Set and Sol, can be used for better adhesion, particularly when applying the decals to non-flat surfaces.

Once the letter is correctly positioned, use tissue paper and apply light pressure to remove excess water or decal softener and fix the decal in place. Varnish can then be airbrushed over the finished decal for protection. Semi-matte or matte varnish can be used to reduce glare if required, followed by the usual weathering process to blend the black lettering into the finished design.
