Applying the Waterslide Decals

Cut out the required decal with a sharp knife, then place it in water for approximately 5 to 10 seconds to loosen it from the carrier paper. Gently slide the decal into position using tweezers. Decal softener, such as Micro Set and Sol, can improve adhesion, especially when applying letters to non-flat surfaces.

Once positioned, use tissue paper with light pressure to remove excess water or decal softener and fix the decal into place. You can then airbrush varnish over the finished decal for protection. A semi-matte or matte varnish can also be used to reduce glare if required.

After the decals have been applied and protected, the usual weathering process can be used to blend the lettering into the overall design.
