Matho Models Black Solid Line Waterslide Decals

Matho Models 80005 is an A6 sheet of solid black waterslide line decals in a range of thicknesses from 0.10mm to 1mm. Designed for scale modelling projects in all scales, the sheet provides a choice of clearly identified line thicknesses so you can select the size that best suits your design.

The sheet provides 37cm of solid black line in each thickness from 0.10mm through to 0.6mm. For the thicker 0.7mm to 1mm lines, 24.7cm is provided in each thickness. The sheet lists each thickness, making it easy to identify the required line before cutting it to the desired length.

Ultra-Thin Solid Black Lines

These Matho Models waterslide decals use separated film and feature an ultra-thin construction that adapts well to different surfaces. High-definition printing produces crisp detail, while the black colour is accurate and colourfast. A semi-matte finish completes the printed lines.

A semi-transparent protective sheet covers the decal sheet. Once you remove this cover, the decals are ready for use with a crisp, bright appearance. With line thicknesses spanning 0.10mm to 1mm, the sheet provides a broad selection of solid black lines within one decal set.

Applying the Solid Line Decals

Cut the selected black line to the desired length with a sharp knife, then soak it in water for about 5 to 10 seconds to loosen it from the carrier paper. Gently slide the line into position using tweezers. Decal softener, such as Micro Set and Sol, can improve adhesion, especially on non-flat surfaces.

Once positioned, use tissue paper and apply light pressure to remove excess water or decal softener and fix the line in place. You can then airbrush varnish over the decal for protection, using semi-matte or matte varnish to reduce glare if needed. You can then apply the usual weathering process to blend the selected solid black line into the finished design.
