Matho Models Emergency Signs Decals

Matho Models Emergency Signs is a detailed water-slide decal set designed to add a selection of emergency signs to scale modelling projects. Produced in 1/35 scale, the decals can also be used with other scales where their size suits the subject or scene.

The set contains two small decal sheets with various emergency signs. The total sheet size is approximately 5.4 x 7.5 cm. These ultra-thin decals feature high-definition printing for crisp results, including the smallest details, with accurate, colourfast colours and a semi-matte finish.

The separated film makes individual decals straightforward to work with. Once placed in water, each decal releases individually, so there is no need to cut precisely around the edges of the printed design. The thin decal material is designed to adapt well to different surfaces, making the set useful for adding convincing signage and small visual details to suitable scale model kits and scenes.

How to Apply the Decals

Cut out the required decal with a sharp knife and place it in water for around 5-10 seconds to loosen it from the carrier paper. Gently slide the decal into position using tweezers. A decal softener such as Micro Set and Sol can be used to improve adhesion, particularly when applying the decal to non-flat surfaces.

Once positioned, use tissue paper with light pressure to remove excess water or decal softener and secure the decal in place. After drying, an airbrushed coat of varnish can provide protection. A semi-matte or matte varnish can also reduce unwanted glare before beginning the usual weathering process to blend the signage naturally into the finished model or scene.
