Matho Models Street Name Signs E – German is a sheet of detailed water-slide decals featuring various German street name signs. Designed in 1/35 scale, the decals provide crisp signage details for suitable scale modelling projects and can also be used with other scales where their size suits the subject.

The sheet measures approximately 5.9 x 9.2 cm and combines ultra-thin decal material with high-definition printing. This produces crisp results even on the smallest details, while accurate, colourfast colours and a semi-matte finish help create a clean appearance on the finished model or scene.

These water-slide decals use separated film, allowing individual signs to release one by one without the need to cut precisely around the printed edges. The ultra-thin material is designed to adapt well to different surfaces, making the signs suitable for adding fine German street name details to appropriate modelling projects.

How to Apply

Cut out the required decal with a sharp knife, then place it in water for approximately 5-10 seconds to loosen it from the carrier paper. Gently slide the decal into position using tweezers. Decal softener, such as Micro Set and Sol, can be used to improve adhesion, particularly when applying the decal to non-flat surfaces.

Once the sign is correctly positioned, use tissue paper and apply light pressure to remove excess water or decal softener and fix the decal into place. After drying, an airbrushed coat of varnish can be applied for protection. A semi-matte or matte varnish can reduce glare if required. The usual weathering process can then be used to blend the street name signs naturally into the finished design.
