Matho Models Street Name Signs Big Set brings together five sheets of detailed water-slide street name sign decals in one comprehensive set. Designed in 1/35 scale, the decals cover French, Italian, English, Spanish and German street names, providing a varied selection of signs for suitable scale modelling projects. They can also be used with other scales where their size is appropriate.

Each sheet measures approximately 6 x 9 cm and uses ultra-thin decal film with high-definition printing for crisp results, including fine details. The decals have accurate, colourfast colours and a semi-matte finish. Separated film allows the individual decals to release one by one, removing the need to cut precisely around the printed edges.

These decals are designed to adapt well to different surfaces, making them useful for adding small, crisp street sign details to suitable scale model kits and scenes.

Applying the Decals

Cut out the required decal with a sharp knife and place it in water for approximately 5-10 seconds to loosen it from the carrier paper. Gently slide the decal into position using tweezers. Decal softener, such as Micro Set and Sol, can improve adhesion, especially on non-flat surfaces.

Once positioned, use tissue paper and apply light pressure over the decal to remove excess water or decal softener and fix it into place. After it dries, you can apply an airbrushed coat of varnish for protection. A semi-matte or matte varnish can also reduce glare if required. You can then use the usual weathering process to blend the street signs naturally into the finished design.
