History:

The Boeing EA-18G Growler is a specialised variant of the F/A-18F Super Hornet, developed for electronic warfare and introduced into service with the U.S. Navy in 2009. Equipped with ALQ-218 and ALQ-99 jamming systems, it plays a vital role in suppressing enemy air defences and ensuring mission success for strike aircraft. The Growler replaced the ageing EA-6B Prowler, offering greater speed, survivability, and compatibility with modern carrier operations. The ‘Yellow Jackets’ squadron, officially known as VAQ-138, has flown the Growler in numerous operations, supporting U.S. and NATO forces with cutting-edge electronic capabilities in both peacetime and combat scenarios.
