History:

The Republic P-47 Thunderbolt was one of the most formidable fighters of World War II. The D-10RE was among the early variants featuring the distinctive Razorback spine, which provided excellent rearward protection and stability at high speeds. Powered by the Pratt & Whitney R-2800 engine and armed with eight .50 calibre machine guns, the P-47D became a legendary ground-attack and escort aircraft. Used extensively in both the European and Pacific theatres, it gained a reputation for durability, firepower and versatility. This version saw action in 1943 and helped secure air superiority for Allied forces over Europe and beyond.
