Red Fox Studio 1/48 WWII German Brick Base Type 1
Create a defined brick setting for a 1/48 WWII German diorama with the Red Fox Studio Type 1 Brick Base. The 380 x 320mm printed surface uses a colourful three-dimensional effect to give the groundwork depth and provide a detailed backdrop for the main subject.
The design is printed onto 5mm thick extruded PVC, which provides a practical base while allowing the overall size and shape to be changed. You can cut and scale it to suit the planned display, so you don’t have to use the full 380 x 320mm area.
Ready-Made Brickwork for a 1/48 Scene
The Type 1 pattern provides the brick groundwork as a prepared surface, reducing the need to construct this part of the diorama from scratch. Its 1/48 scale and WWII German theme provide a focused starting point for arranging the subject and developing the surrounding scene.
For smaller displays, the extruded PVC can be trimmed to the dimensions required. Alternatively, the full printed area can form a larger section of groundwork, giving you flexibility in how the brick surface fits into the finished composition.
Weather and Finish the Printed Surface
The base is resistant to UV rays and to various paints and washes. Additional paint effects and washes can therefore be used to introduce tonal variation, weather the brickwork or help coordinate its appearance with other scenic elements.
The printed surface has a semi-gloss finish. We recommend applying matt varnish where a more realistic, flatter appearance is required, reducing the sheen while retaining the detail and three-dimensional effect of the printed design.
