Rye Field Models Plastic Model Kit

Pz.Kpfw. IV Ausf. J Late Production (1/35) RM5033

The Panzer IV Ausf. J was the final version of Germany’s most widely used medium tank during World War II. Rye Field Models offers a highly detailed 1/35 scale kit of the late production variant, incorporating simplified wartime modifications and updated armour configurations. With fine moulding and optional fittings, this kit accurately portrays the vehicle’s stripped-back, combat-ready design used in the final months of the war.

  • Detailed Ausf. J late-production features with simplified rear hull and exhaust layout
  • Accurate turret with revised vision ports and armour plates
  • Optional side armour skirts and rear stowage options
  • Workable track links and full suspension detail
  • Photo-etch and clear parts included
  • Marking options for late-war German Army units

History

The Panzerkampfwagen IV served as the backbone of German armoured forces throughout World War II. The Ausf. J was the last production variant, introduced in 1944 and modified to simplify manufacturing under increasingly strained wartime conditions. Features included a manually traversed turret, removal of the auxiliary generator, and the addition of side skirts for increased protection. Despite being technologically surpassed by newer Allied tanks, the Ausf. J remained in widespread use until the end of the war, proving reliable and adaptable under pressure. It saw service on both Eastern and Western Fronts in defensive and rearguard actions.
